Make Ahead Magic: Freezer-Friendly Baked Goods for the Holidays

Holiday mornings should smell like homemade bread, cinnamon, and butter—not stress! Here’s how to prep your favorite baked goods ahead of time so you can enjoy a slow, peaceful morning without sacrificing homemade goodness.

There’s nothing quite like the smell of warm cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning, but who wants to wake up at 4 AM to make them? Here’s my favorite make-ahead hack so you can enjoy delicious homemade cinnamon rolls with zero stress.

Here’s how:

  1. Prepare your dough, fill it, and shape the cinnamon rolls just like normal.

  2. Place them in a metal or foil pan (something freezer-safe).

  3. Cover tightly with foil (I like to wrap mine with two layers of foil), and freeze before the second rise.

When you’re ready to bake:

  • Option 1: Move the pan to the fridge the night before and let them thaw slowly overnight.

  • Option 2: Pull them out in the morning and let them thaw and rise at room temperature until puffy.

Then bake as usual and enjoy that warm, gooey, holiday goodness! You can do the same thing with yeast rolls, making your Thanksgiving or Christmas morning prep effortless.
